Fair Fun layout

Another layout using a sketch from Sketch N Scrap. This time it's sketch #191. Again, I'm bashing my stash and using old paper from MME and other old embellishments. These pictures are of my daughter at the fair back in 2011. She's so cute and little!

First Day of School layout

I dove deep into my stash of school stuff for this layout using sketch #399 from Sketches in Thyme. Some of these embellishments are so old, I'm not even sure where they came from. The pictures are the 1st day of school back in 2011.

Deck Party

I fun layout using a Sketches in Thyme sketch, old CTMH paper, Echo Park brads and ephemera, and pictures from my Disney Cruise back in 2015.

Sketches in Thyme

Festive Holiday

I'm still working on my 2011 photos, but thanks to Janet over at RTS, I've learned that I can scrap out of chronological order. I just have to be organized. However, I wanted to scrap these cute photos of my little girl on Christmas morning from 2011. I used a Pagemap sketch and did this layout using CTMH paper from 2017. I'm going to use it for the anything goes challenge over at Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog.

Snow Much Work

In 2014 we had a huge snow which is unusual for NW Oklahoma. Garrett was old enough to shovel the sidewalks, but he didn't enjoy it too much. It was a little harder work than he thought it would be. This paper collection is Bo Bunny from 2009! I also used a sketch from A Cherry on Top.

A Cherry on Top

What a View

More NYC pictures! I might get this trip from 2008 finished one of these days. Then I have four more NYC trips to scrap. LOL  For this one, I used another sketch from Sketches in Thyme, #398. Anyone remember SEI papers? I still have so many collections. I think I bought everyone of them, but I still like them and find them easy to use. To the SEI papers, tags, and buttons, I added a few stickers from my stash. These pictures were taken from the top of the Empire State Building.

CBS Morning Show

I used the Scrap Our Stash Pick a Side sketch challenge for the inspiration for this layout. I've already scrapped most of the pictures of our visit to the CBS Morning Show back in 2008, but I wanted to scrap these last three pictures. I used a VERY old Teresa Collins collection that I received in a kit several years ago. I'm waiting to do the journaling on the tag once I find my memorabilia that has the names on it.

Grateful for You

I'm so excited to join the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog for this week's challenge. I used my oldest CTMH paper and stickers called Let's Get Together from 2007! It's crazy that I've been buying CTMH for that long. I also used a sketch from the Reflections book. The only thing on the layout that isn't CTMH is the ribbon and the "grateful" sticker I added from my stash. These pictures of my kiddos were taken back in 2012. It's amazing that they were so little.

I'm Back

I did this layout for the sketch challenge over at Sketch N Scrap. I used an old Paper Studio kit for NYC and added a few other NYC stickers that I've accumulated over the last few years. I even used a really old stamp for the background. These pictures were taken on my niece's senior trip back in 2012. It was the first day there, and we were just walking around a little. The last time I was there was with her older sister on her senior trip so that's the reason for the title.

Captured

I used the CTMH Hawthorn collection plus a few things from my stash and an old sketch for this layout of my kiddos at a pig show way back in 2011.

Fa La La La

I'm so ready for Christmas for the first time in several years. In fact, I think I'm going to put my tree up later today. All Sorts Challenge blog challenged people to use Christmas flowers on a layout, so I dug deep in my stash, used a Nov. 2019 Pagemap sketch, and came up with this layout of my daughter singing in the church Christmas play way back in 2011.

Give Praise for Old Friends

I used another Sketches in Thyme sketch for this layout. This is for sketch #397, and I used really old Doodlebug papers and embellishments for this layout. I love bashing my stash! I added a little ribbon and jewels for embellishments.

Here's the sketch:

and a link to the challenge:

Sweet Piper layout

I used a sketch from Sketches in Thyme Sketch #396 for starting point for this layout. I also used Color Throwdown #569 for the color inspiration but couldn't enter it since it wasn't a card. I just enjoy getting ideas from the colors they post on there. I dove into my stash for this layout using some very old K & Co. papers and Jolee stickers. The photos are of my great-niece and my sister-in-law from Dec. 2018.

Layouts #3 and #4 for June

One of these days, I'm going to get back on track and post daily. I've been working hard on my NYC 2008 album, but a lot of those layouts were premade, and I just have to put the photos on them, so I don't share those. But today I did one from "scratch." This was my first trip to NYC, and I fell in love with the city. I've been four times since then and hope to go back in 2020. I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to scrap these pictures. Maybe it's because I took almost 1,000 pictures, and I had a hard time realizing that I don't have to scrap them all. Anyway...these are pictures of stores along 5th Avenue.

Supplies used
Paper: scraps and stash
Stickers: stash and Making Memories alphas

Supplies used

Embellishments: Around the Block - Dingbrads (2006), Stickopotamus - Button Ups
Ribbon: EK Success Adornments

What I'm reading
I finally finished Sarah's Key and really enjoyed it. I gave it 4/5 stars. Now I'm back to a cozy mystery, A Wedding to Die For by Leann Sweeney. It's #2 in the Yellow Rose mystery series.

What I'm cooking
Tonight I'm making the second meal from my Blue Apron. It's a recipe I've made before from them, and my family really enjoyed it.  General Tso's chicken with Jasmine Rice

Sunday's layout

I went to Oklahoma City this weekend to spend a little time with my mom and to see the Broadway tour of Cats. I have seen it twice, but it was about 20 years ago since the last time. This production was absolutely remarkable. Amazing choreography! So glad I got to see it again.

This time I did a two-page layout which I don't really enjoy doing anymore. If I have to do a page on my own with no kit, it's usually a one-pager, but I liked this sketch for these photos. More pictures from 2011.

Supplies
Paper: DCWV - Spring Glitter Stack (2009)
Stickers: MME (2010), Basic Grey
Metal frame and flower: Making Memories
Pearls: Kaiser
Stash: all other embellishments
Sketch: Scrappers Daily Dose 2007

What I'm reading
I finished Lair of Dreams on my way home last night. I'm still reading Sarah's Key but would really like to get it finished by the 31st so I can count it on a Goodreads Challenge. I was notified by the library that the audio version of Pachinko was ready for me. It's another long one, so I don't know if I'll be able to finish listening to it before my two weeks are up, but I'll get it started to see if I want to use an Audible credit to finish it.

Saturday's layout

I left Saturday morning for Oklahoma City and spent the day with my mom shopping and eating and avoiding tornados.  I went to Hobby Lobby, Michael's and Tuesday Morning for some scrapbook supplies and organizing things. Michael's had some great sales for Memorial Day.

Here is my layout for Saturday.

Supplies:
Paper: Paper Studios All-Seasons (2008)
Stickers: Sandylion - splashes (2001), Echo Park, Sweet Summertime (2010)
Brads: MME - On the Sunny Side (2012)
Stamp: Queen Kat Designs
Sketch: The Scraproom May 2019

Finally, today's layout 5/24

This morning I was able to get my layout finished for today. I was supposed to leave town for the weekend this afternoon, but with all the rain we have been getting, our road is underwater, so I'm not sure I'm going to get to leave. This picture is of my daughter showing off her style. I love looking back at these photos from 2011 since now she's a teenager and acts like one!  LOL

Supplies used
Papers: DCWV Cherry Limeade paper pad (2011), American Crafts Dear Lizzy (2010)
Stickers: Creative Imaginations - word title, Paper Studios - 3-D (2007), K & Co. - chipboard
Fiber: Making Memories - twistel
Pearls - E.
Sketch by Susan Costanza (2009)

I'm not sure what I'll be reading and cooking today since I'm still unsure of my plans. If I do get to leave town, I'll be listening to Lair of Dreams while I drive, and I won't be cooking. If I stay home, I don't really have a plan.

Thursday's Layout

Yesterday I spent most of my time in the scrapbook room inventorying my CTMH supplies. I've bought from CTMH for over 10 years, and boy, it sure shows. I have a LOT of stash to use. Even though I spent hours doing that, I still managed to get a layout done. Here it is:

Supplies used
Paper: We R Memory Keepers - Love Struck paper pad (2012)
Stickers: K & Co. - felt, DCWV - chipboard, 7 Gypsies - flat (2006), MAMBI - flat, EK Success - epoxy
Bling: Prima swirls (2008), P. pearls & crystals
Sketch: stash
Stash: photo corner stickers

Catch-Up Day

I'm going to post a few different times today showing my layouts from the last few days. I've spent most of my time organizing and taking inventory in my scrapbook room, so I didn't get these layouts posted. Here's my layout from Wednesday:

Supplies used
Paper: DCWV - Indian Summer paper pad (2009)
Stickers: HOTP Dazzle - brown flower
Title card: Evelyn's Collection
Cardstock border - Little Yellow Bicycle
Stash: chipboard, pin, button, ribbon, and paper clip

These are more pictures of my daughter on her kindergarten field trip to the zoo in 2011.

I didn't wash away

After a very rainy day with lots of storms and about two inches of rain, I'm happy to say that we were lucky enough to miss the really damaging storms. I thought I better post early today because I'll be out of the house all afternoon with dentist appointments, grocery shopping, and music lessons. Here is today's layout and updates.

This is my senior's 4th grade basketball pictures. He was such a chunk! I wanted to veer away from the traditional basketball layout in our school colors, so I chose primary colors instead. Here are the details and supplies.

Paper: Paper Studios - Color Kaleidoscope paper pad (2008)
Stickers: Paper Bliss - 3D star (2002), Renae Lindgren - stars & marbles, MAMBI - photo corners & puffy stars
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Ribbon: SEI
Brads: Bazzill - button brads
Stash: journal box, alpha stickers
Sketch: Lucy Chesna

What I'm reading:
I'm hoping to be able to read a little more of Sarah's Key today while waiting for my daughter in the dentist.

What I'm cooking:
I haven't decided if I'm going to cook when I get home or bring something home from shopping. My children are invited to a going-away party for a foreign exchange student, and I don't know if I'll want to cook for just my husband and me. I'll let you know tomorrow what I decided. LOL

Be You layout using a sketch challenge

Hello again! It's a stormy, rainy day here in NW Oklahoma, and I've spent my morning finishing up some school stuff. I'm headed to my scrap room to get my next layout finished, but first I wanted to share the layout I did using a sketch from Sketch N Scrap that was the challenge sketch for iNSD. I think I stayed pretty true to the sketch.

These pictures are of my son who just graduated on Friday.  Where does the time go?

Supplies
Paper: Dots, Striped & Plaids stack - DCWV (2010)
Stickers: Basic Grey - letters, HOTP Dazzles - stars, Creative Imaginations - epoxy words
Metal frame - Making Memories
Ribbon - SEI

What I'm reading:
I'm going to continue with Sarah's Key today. I know it's going to be a great book, but I also know it's going to make me cry so I'm kind of dreading it.

What I'm cooking:
Breakfast: Almond Strawberry Parfaits
Lunch: BLT
Supper: ? (I had planned on making Garlic Parmesan Wings, but I'm not sure I'm going to get to the grocery store because of the weather.)

Using OLD stash today

It's a beautiful Sunday morning here in Oklahoma, and today I used some really old products. Here's the layout.

These are pictures from my daughter's kindergarten class trip to the zoo. She just finished her 8th grade year! Yes, I'm just a few years behind. I was inspired by all the great grid layouts I saw on iNSD and thought it would be perfect for all the animal pictures.

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV "Gone Wild" paper pad (2012)
Stickers: Making Memories - letter stickers (1997!!!!!)
Mesh and chipboard: stash
Brads: HOTP - brad buddies, Paper Studio - animal print (2009)
Tag: Formica sample from hardware store
Stamps and ink: CTMH

What I'm reading:
I hope to make a dent in Lair of Dreams today since I'll be in the car by myself for 3 hours.

What I'm cooking:
NOTHING! I'm taking my mom and grandma back to her house in OKC after church and won't be home in time for supper. The kitchen is closed today!

Let's try this again

I'm more than a little embarrassed that I've been off my blog for over a year, but I would like to try this again. Today is the first day of summer break, and I've been scrapping more often lately. 2019 is the year to Bash My Stash, Use It or Lose It, and clear it out. Other than my monthly CTMH kits that I buy, I haven't really bought supplies in awhile. I've been watching Youtube videos and feel like I have my mojo back. Hopefully I can keep it up. All that being said, I'm going to spend the next few days getting into the routine of posting. I would really like to include books that I'm reading and recipes that I'm cooking, too. So here it goes:

The scrapbook page I did today and the supplies I used.
